Air Fried BBQ Cauliflower
Can we all agree that cauliflower is so much better when it’s coated in a sauce, tossed in the air fryer and crisped to perfection. This air fried bbq cauliflower is no exception to that and may be one of my new favorite ways to make (and enjoy!) cauliflower. If you’ve made the buffalo cauliflower on One Balanced Life then you will love this one using BBQ sauce instead.
Air Fried BBQ Cauliflower
I don’t know about you, but I love a good appetizer. I love having gatherings with friends and fixing a bunch of different snacks or appetizers to have. One of my favorites to make is this Air Fried BBQ Cauliflower. Cauliflower is so versatile! If you’re wondering if it can actually taste good, trust me it can!! I’m not the biggest fan of cauliflower on it’s own, but I love making plant based recipes with it!
If you’re looking for something new to snack on and have an air fryer, try this out! Or if you want to try another cauliflower recipe on One Balanced Life, maybe you’ll like Sweet and Sour Cauliflower or Harissa Tahini Cauliflower.
What you need for Air Fried BBQ Cauliflower:
- Cauliflower head
- Almond Flour
- Rice crumbs
- Egg
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- BBQ Sauce
- Green onion
Can I use a different flour?
I have only tested this recipe with Almond Flour! Therefore, I can’t say it will come out the same when using a different flour. Be sure to let me know if you try it though!
How to make:
- Chop up head of cauliflower. Make sure pieces aren’t too small or too big!
- Prepare two bowls. One with 2 eggs whisked and another bowl with almond flour, rice crumbs and spices mixed in.
- Take piece of cauliflower and dip into egg mix and then roll to completely cover in flour mix. Do this to all pieces of cauliflower.
- Place in air fryer. You may want to do two batches depending on how big your air fryer is! Shake up half way through.
- Take out of air fryer, place in large bowl and pour BBQ sauce on top. Completely coat.
- Place back in the air fryer.
- Top with red pepper flakes and green onion. Enjoy!
Does BBQ cauliflower work with any sauce?
Yes! If you’ve made my buffalo cauliflower, this recipe is the exact same! We just use BBQ Sauce here. You can use any of your favorite sauces! Some of my favorites are the BBQ Sriracha from Trader Joe’s or any of the Primal Kitchen sauces.
Can I bake these instead of using the air fryer?
Yes! Refer to the Buffalo Cauliflower recipe for all baking instructions. Follow those but use your BBQ sauce instead 🙂 You can also use any of your favorite sauce to replace this!
Why I love my air fryer:
Maybe you’ve been on the fence with getting an air fryer or looking to start using the one that’s still sitting in the box. Let me tell you, the air fryer is my favorite!! If you like making meals quick, then you’ll love the air fryer. You can toss everything in here! I’ve done everything from cauliflower to chicken to potatoes.
