Hot Honey Chicken Salad
I’m always looking for easy ways to switch up my lunch during the week and this Hot Honey Chicken Salad is a new favorite! If you’ve been to One Balanced Life, you know we love a good chicken salad over here.

What you need for Hot Honey Chicken Salad:
- Rotisserie chicken
- Coleslaw cabbage mix
- Celery ribs
- Green onion
- Pickled jalapenos
- Avocado oil mayo
- Hot sauce
- Honey
- Smoked paprika
- Cayenne pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Salt
- Black pepper (optional)
How to make this chicken salad:
- In a small to medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, hot sauce, honey, and all spices (smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper) and whisk thoroughly to combine. Set aside.
- Add the shredded chicken, coleslaw cabbage mix, celery, green onions, pickled jalapenos, and the sauce to a large bowl. Mix until thoroughly combined.
- Serve as desired.
How to store your leftover chicken salad:
It’s best to store any leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge. I like using these for easy storage!
If you want to switch it up, try doing this instead:
- Use chicken breast instead of rotisserie chicken
- Try adding in chopped apples for more freshness!
- Use a little more honey to sweeten up the sauce more.

This Hot Honey Chicken Salad is so simple to make and perfect for a make ahead lunch to have ready for the week!
Ingredients
- 4 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
- 1 cup coleslaw cabbage mix (not coleslaw, the shredded cabbage and carrot mix is the one you want)
- 2 celery ribs, finely diced
- โ cup green onion, thinly sliced
- โ cup diced pickled jalapenos (optional but recommended)
- ยฝ cup light or avocado mayonnaise
- ยผ cup hot sauce (I used the Frankโs hot sauce brand; you can also use Cholula)
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ยฝ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ยผ teaspoon Garlic powder
- ยผ teaspoon Onion powder
- ยผ teaspoon Salt
- ยผ teaspoon Black pepper (optional)
