Warm Brussels Sprouts and Bacon Salad

I love a good warm salad when you’re used to many being cold! I have plenty of those on One Balanced Life, so I wanted to make this one as an option to add to your holiday menu or easily serve it as a dinner side. This is made with a few simple ingredients and a lot of the flavor comes from the cooked applewood smoked bacon and making it all in the same pan!

Whether you’re adding this to your Thanksgiving table or having as an easy dinner side, it’s something that everyone will enjoy!

What you need for Warm Brussels Sprouts And Bacon Salad:

  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Applewood Smoked Bacon
  • Garlic cloves
  • Raw Pecans
  • Fresh Parmesan Cheese
  • Black Pepper

How to make this salad:

  1. Chop up brussels sprouts. I like to shred myself instead of buying pre-packaged shredded ones!
  2. In a pan, add bacon to cook.
  3. Once finished, remove from the pan. In the same pan, add minced garlic and shredded brussels sprouts to saute.
  4. Finely chop up pecans and grate your parmesan cheese.
  5. Once brussels have sauteed for 5-6 minutes, add in chopped bacon with a little cracked black pepper.
  6. Add chopped pecans.
  7. Remove from the heat and add grated parmesan cheese.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

How to store your leftover salad:

It’s best to store any leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge. I like using these for easy fridge storage!

If you want to switch it up, you can do this instead:

  • Use candied nuts or walnuts
  • Add in fresh pomegranate seeds
  • Make it sweeter by adding in chopped dates

FAQs:

Can this be made ahead of time?

It’s best to serve it while it is still warm! If you do want to save time, you can shred the brussels sprouts ahead of cooking it.

Can I use pre-shredded brussels sprouts?

You can! I find that I like to shred them myself for this recipe though.

What would this go with?

This would make for a great side with any protein! It could be topped with shrimp, grilled chicken or salmon too.
