What you need for Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala:

  • Boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 2-inch cubes 
  • Coconut milk 
  • Tomato sauce
  • Yellow onion
  • Ginger, grated
  • Garlic cloves
  • Kosher salt 
  • Garam masala 
  • Curry powder 
  • Ground turmeric powder
  • Cumin
  • Red chili flakes
  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish
  • Greek yogurt, for serving 
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Rice, for serving

How to make this slow cooker meal:

  1. Add the chicken to the base of a 6-9 quart slow cooker.ย 
  2. To a mixing bowl, add the coconut milk, tomato sauce, onion, ginger, garlic, salt, garam masala, curry powder, turmeric, cumin, and chili flakes. Whisk to evenly combine, then pour the mixture over the chicken. Stir to coat the chicken in the sauce. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.ย 
  3. Serve over rice with cilantro, a dollop of greek yogurt, and a lemon wedge.ย

This Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala is perfect for an easy weeknight dinner and made easily in the crockpot!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 2-inch cubes
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ยฝ yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ยฝ teaspoon cumin
  • ยฝ teaspoon red chili flakes (use more or less to adjust to your spice preference)
  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish
  • Greek yogurt, for serving
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Rice, for serving
