Whole 30 Week 1 Recap

Woah week 1 is complete!! I actually can’t believe it, this week has flown by! My mom texted me the other day and was like how’s day 6 of whole 30 and I couldn’t believe I had already been doing this the last week.

Let’s back up to why I wanted to start on the whole30 journey…1) because I just wanted to! I find the program & the structure of it to be amazing. Some of the people that I’ve heard from and seen across social media have only spoken highly of it so I was intrigued to find out myself. And I mean it’s only 30 days! You can do anything in 30 days. It’s something that I hope to be able to speak on with potential clients as well! 2) I’ve been experiencing a lot more skin issues in the last year than I ever have. It’s kinda crazy because growing up I hardly ever had a pimple! And now they seem to like to hang around…so I wanted to do this as a way to test my intolerances. I have a feeling that dairy may not be working for me, so I figured doing this would give me a better idea to what’s working and what isn’t. I think it’s easy to get caught up in eating the same thing & not really paying attention to the cues your body is giving you that it just doesn’t work. Doing the whole30, makes me really think about that and think about how I feel after I eat something. Which is so important.

The biggest thing that I’ve noticed in the last week is how easy it is to mindlessly snack throughout the day. Without even acknowledging if you’re actually hungry. Don’t get me wrong, I love to snack and don’t think there is anything wrong with it! But I think it needs to come from a place of actually hungry for it rather than using it as a void for being bored, too busy, or even for me while prepping other food! I’d be grabbing all the things while I was making the food I was actually going to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I’ve also noticed less brain fog in the last two days. It’s a little hard to explain, but I just feel more clear! Hopefully more to come on that in the next few days!

I’ve been eating a lot of the same thing for lunch (usually a salad with tuna) because I looove it and it fills me up. It’s also perfect because it doesn’t take a long time to prepare and is always usually fool-proof. Having things prepped has been key this past week too because by the time meal time comes around I’m not stressing to get something together. I’ve been loving trying new things for my meals but also enjoy a lot of what I previously ate because it’s just my favorite foods!

All around, I’m excited with where I am at with week 1 and I’m excited for the rest of it! Hopefully with more delicious recipes too 🙂 Please let me know if you have any questions about it! xoxo

Talk soon, Taylor.
