Buffalo Turkey Burgers

I’m all about all the buffalo flavors!! Especially this time of year and all of the fall weather, these are the flavors that I can’t get enough of. As you know, I love making things that I can use in a variety of ways throughout the week. I made these burgers into smaller patties for the sweet potato buns and then used the remaining ones to put on a salad and make a ‘burger salad’ and with sweet potato fries. You can also make the patties bigger and use burger buns to make up an actual burger with them.

So many options for toppings! Add some guacamole, use the buffalo yogurt sauce that I have or even add in cheese.

The buffalo turkey burgers are completely Whole 30 approved, you would just need to omit the sauce on top and switch it out for something like avocado, more buffalo sauce or a Whole30 approved ranch. So good!

What you need for the Southwestern Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp Siggi’s Plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp + ½ tsp buffalo sauce
  • salt, pepper
  • garlic powder
  • For the sweet potato buns:
  • 2 round sweet potatoes
  • Avocado Oil Spray (I used this one)
  • Salt, pepper

  • 2 tbsp almond flour
  • 2 tbsp green onion
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt & pepper
  • Avocado Oil spray
  • For the sauce:
  • 2 tbsp Siggi’s Plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp buffalo sauce
  • salt, pepper
  • garlic powder
  • For the sweet potato buns:
  • 2 round sweet potatoes
  • Avocado Oil Spray (I used this one)
  • Salt, pepper

Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
    2. Cut the sweet potato round by creating thick slices down the middle of the sweet potato
    3. Spray with avocado oil spray, sea salt & pepper. Bake for 15-20 minutes and flip to bake for 15-20 more.
    4. To make the buffalo burgers, combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. Heat up a pan with a little avocado oil (olive oil works too).
    5. Form into small patties if you plan to use for the sweet potato rounds.
    6. Saute for 6-7 minutes on each side or until completely cooked through. Set aside
    7. Make the creamy buffalo sauce by combining all of the ingredients. Set aside.
    8. Assemble the sweet potato sliders by adding a sweet potato “bun”, romaine lettuce, buffalo turkey burger, creamy buffalo sauce & additional sweet potato as a top “bun”
    9. Enjoy!

Talk soon, Taylor.
